Michigan Football Grades vs. Notre Dame: Jim Harbaugh, Josh Gattis, Shea Patterson, Don Brown & More
Episode 253
Michigan Football News: Jim Harbaugh’s #19 ranked Wolverines defeated #8 Notre Dame 45-14 in a top 25 showdown in ‘The Big House’ & Michigan Football Report host James Yoder is giving out grades for the Michigan football team. Jim Harbaugh, Don Brown & Josh Gattis did not disappoint in this one. They were prepared & ready to play, which resulted in a huge win. The victory marked Michigan’s first win over a top 10 opponent since 2016. Because of the rainy weather, Shea Patterson did not have to throw the ball much, but when he did, he was efficient. Shea finished 6 of 12 with 100 yards & 2 passing touchdowns. Michigan rushed for over 300 yards in this one. Leading the way was Hassan Haskins, who had 20 carries for 149 yards on the ground. Zach Charbonnet also contributed with 74 rushing yards & 2 touchdowns. There wasn’t much of a passing game, so most of the battle was won in the trenches. However, a surprising performance from WR Mike Sainristil helped the Michigan Wolverines clinch this victory. He had 3 catches for 73 yards & a score. Michigan’s streak of 35 games without a 100 yard receiver continues. Between bad routes and dropped passes, they need to stick around a bit longer to prove they are worthy. From Jimbo Fishbaugh: I guarantee @JamesYoder makes serious $ for @UMichFootball, something haters don’t give him credit for From DA S: Michigan fans are foolish to want Harbaugh gone, this guy has been in Football his entire life and loves Michigan. From bill kemp: I found it interesting that Harbaugh admitted today on the radio that Patterson was indeed playing injured for the first two games of the year. I believe Yoder had it first and Joel Klatt had it later. Give Yoder some credit for getting the story when the beat writers are not delivering. From Jay Zachary: Bowl games count REALLY?? Yeah in the 80s !!! The games are nothing but glorified post season exhibition games made to make the rich richer !! They should cancel them all !!!! From Anthony Kimmerly: James, does a long shot win against TTIO (that team in ohio) this season alter the fanbases view of Harbaugh? From: Micah Wilson: This (vs Penn State) was the best game SP played. I liked what I saw from him Please SUBSCRIBE for Michigan Football News every day. Do it - https://www.youtube.com/MichiganTV?sub_confirmation=1 Another burning question is if Michigan should bench Shea Patterson going forward? Patterson had arguably his best game as a Wolverine, but it wasn’t enough to take down Penn State, ultimately hurting Michigan’s chances at a College Football Playoff berth. Should Michigan go ahead & prepare for the future by going with a quarterback such as Dylan McCaffrey or Joe Milton? Michigan’s offense didn’t look bad vs. PSU. The offense performed well but costly drops hurt Michigan’s chances of winning. Despite Michigan’s solid offensive performance, is Josh Gattis on the hot seat? Finally, Yoder discusses if Michigan blew this game. The opportunities were there, but Michigan failed to capitalize in key situations.
