The 2020 NFL Draft will be here soon and with the Dallas Cowboys out of the NFL Playoffs, let’s take a look at some of the top Cowboys Draft Targets in Round 1. That includes some notable Draft Prospects like Grant Delpit, Kristian Fulton, Javon Kinlaw and Henry Ruggs. Plus, do the Cowboys have any real shot at CeeDee Lamb or Derrick Brown? The Dallas Cowboys were on the outside looking in during the 1st round of the 2019 NFL Draft. This year the Cowboys have the #17 overall pick but who will the Cowboys draft in the 1st round of the 2020 NFL Draft? Tom Downey, host of the Dallas Cowboys Report, breaks down five players the Cowboys should target in the draft and as a bonus, throws in two players Dallas shouldn’t even get their hopes up for. Cowboys Draft plans should, and will likely focus on defense in the early NFL draft selections. Tom suggests looking at two LSU DB’s in Grant Delpit and Kristian Fulton. The Cowboys’ safety issues were on full display this season especially with Jeff Heath. Xavier Woods has proved to be a keeper but Grant Delpit would give the Cowboys a playmaker they desperately need. Cowboys Offensive Coordinator Candidates: Top 8 Ft. Kellen Moore, Pat Shurmur, Ben McAdoo And Jon Kitna

The Dallas Cowboys have a new head coach in Mike McCarthy, but who will be their new offensive coordinator? Kellen Moore may or may not stay, but who are the top candidates for Cowboys Offensive Coordinator? Could McCarthy keep Moore and Jon Kitna or will the cowboys be looking for a replacement? Mike McCarthy is reportedly open to keeping Kellen Moore as OC, however, Moore might be moving in a different direction. He has the opportunity to become the University of Washington OC and is “mulling it all over.” McCarthy had praise for a Kellen Moore play call and he’s certainly an upgrade from Scott Linehan. The question is, will he elect to expand his offensive knowledge under McCarthy or join the Washington Huskies? The Cowboys could also look into hiring big name coaches like Pat Shurmur or Ben McAdoo. Shurmur was fired by the Giants after going 4-12 in 2019 but rumor has it that “multiple” teams are interested in him. Ben McAdoo, on the other hand, has coached offensive line, tight ends and quarterbacks in addition to his experience as an offensive coordinator and head coach. Both Shurmur and McAdoo make some sense for the Cowboys. There aren’t many truly available coaches out there, but Redskins OC Kevin O’Connell is. Could he be a target? Cowboys rumors have also linked multiple former Packers coaches to the offensive coordinator job. Alex Van Pelt is currently the Bengals QB coach, was on staff with McCarthy back in Green Bay and had a very strong relationship with Aaron Rodgers. If McCarthy is looking to duplicate results with Rodgers and Prescott, Pelt might be the guy for the job. Joe Philbin, long-time Packers assistant, is another name to consider. However, if McCarthy is serious about proving he’s evolved and changed, hiring his old offensive coordinator probably isn’t the best idea. Dallas Cowboys draft focuses on the first NFL Mock Draft of the year for the Cowboys. It goes all 7-rounds for the 2020 NFL Draft as host Tom Downey attempts to fix the Cowboys. Much can and will change, but based on the current Cowboys Rumors and current NFL Draft order, these mock draft picks can help the Cowboys in a big way. The Cowboys have plenty of needs before free agency, with defense being among the most important. The Cowboys have several free agents at DT and CB and the current players haven’t played that well to begin with. Javon Kinlaw is the Cowboys’ first round pick in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft and he provides instant help at the defensive tackle spot. The Cowboys also need pass rush help and that’s where Wake Forest’s Carlos Basham comes in. Bryce Hall is the classic Cowboys Round 2 pick. Injured but very talented player who helps at CB. Tom’s favorite pick is S Antoine Winfield, who gives the Cowboys a play-maker on defense. Offense isn’t ignored, although the Cowboys wait until late to add help.
