The toughest Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout game that Xavier guard Myles Davis experienced thus far was the one in which he did not play at all.
It was his freshman year at Xavier, and Cincinnati won the rivalry game 60-45. Davis was neither dressed to play nor sitting on the bench. He watched from U.S. Bank Arena's stands, ineligible, because the NCAA invalidated four core classes he took at Notre Dame Prep in Massachusetts.
Eight of Davis' teammates took the same classes and were considered qualifiers. As they went on to play collegiate ball, Davis was required to pay his own way to Xavier for a year.
