Brian Neal and Xavier's women's basketball team will start the season the same way as last season – by honoring Lauren Hill.
The Musketeers host Tennessee State in a Nov. 12 season opener at Cintas Center as part of the Lauren Hill Tipoff Classic. Mount St. Joseph, the school for which Hill played before her death from brain cancer in 2015, faces Hiram after the 2 p.m. XU game.
Senior guard Raeshaun Gaffney returns as XU's leading scorer (11.1 ppg) and rebounder (4.8 rpg) on a team that went 17-13 (8-10 Big East) a year ago.
