Xavier point guard Edmond Sumner on Friday earned a prestigious honor as a member of the
Kyle Macy Freshman All-America Team.
The team, sponsored by CollegeInsider.com, has in the past featured Musketeers players Semaj Christon (2012-13) and Myles Davis (2013-14).
Sumner averaged a team-second 11 points and a team-second 3.6 assists in the Musketeers' 28-6 (14-4 Big East) season. He had 22 double-figure scoring games and rallied from a Dec. 31 concussion at Villanova that forced him to miss four outings.
The 6-foot-6 player scored 15 points in his return at Marquette.
