Xavier University's accustomed to net-cutting ceremonies and championship celebrations in the Cintas Center, it's 10,000-plus seat, on-campus arena.
Three years from now, the arena will host what's likely to be one of its biggest championship parties ever when the regional round of the women's NCAA basketball tournament comes to campus.
The NCAA on Wednesday announced the regional-round host sites for its 2021 and 2022 women's hoops tournaments, and Cintas Center was awarded a regional final for the 2021 tournament.
“We are excited to partner with the Cincinnati USA Sports Commission to host a regional for the 2021 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament,” Xavier Athletic Director Greg Christopher said in a news release.
