CINCINNATI, OH - Xavier baseball came home and played a gritty game against conference-leading Creighton. There was three ties and two lead changes throughout the contest, but ultimately the Blue Jays win 8-7.
Creighton started the game by bringing eight batters to the plate, but only scored twice on one base hit, a solo home run on the game's second pitch. The Musketeers were undeterred, coming right at the BIG EAST Preseason Pitcher of the Year with two runs on four hits. Jack Housinger hit a solo homer, and Andrew Walker capped the rally with an RBI single to tie the game.
