QUEENS, N.Y. - After heading into the fourth inning in a 3-3 tie, Xavier scored multiple runs in three of the final four innings in the seven-inning game to take the 18-6 win in the series finale at St. John's. Xavier takes the BIG EAST opening series, 2-1.
Xavier scored three runs in the top of the first and the Red Storm responded in the bottom of the second to put the game in tie until the fourth inning. Another three-run frame put Xavier ahead for good, and the Musketeers added another 13 runs combined in the final two innings.
