Emma McMyler, a sophomore standout on Xavier University's women's golf team, qualified on Tuesday for the 77th U.S. Women's Open Championship.
Playing at the Ohio State University Scarlet Course, one of 26 qualifying locations across the country, McMyler placed second among a field of 63 golfers with a 36-hole score of 141 (3-under par), earning one of three automatic qualifying spots.
McMyler, who's already a two-time Big East Conference player of the year, will compete in the U.S. Open June 2-5 at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C.
A native of San Antonio, Texas, McMyler will be one of 156 golfers to compete in the U.
