Zach Hankins didn't have any Division I offers to play college basketball when he came out of high school in Charlevoix, Michigan.

He did have, though, a chance at Ferris State University, where he helped win a Division II national championship and earned national player of the year honors. Then, Hankins parlayed that into a graduate transfer position at Xavier University last season, followed by an opportunity this summer in the NBA Summer League, which helped him land a deal to play professional basketball in the Czech Republic.
