Cintas Center will have many new-look features for the 2017-18 basketball season, and perhaps the most important of those will be on the court itself, which now bears the name of one of the all-time great advocates for Xavier athletics.
Bob Kohlhepp, a Xavier alum, former Cintas executive and member of Xavier's board of trustees for nearly three decades, was honored by the university Wednesday for his many contributions – financial and otherwise – as school officials announced it named Cintas Center's basketball court the Kohlhepp Family Court.
The idea to honor Kohlhepp, whose gifts and mentoring contributions around the Xavier campus have piled up over the decades, began to form around September as Kohlhepp prepared for retirement from a long career as a Cintas executive, Xavier President Father Michael Graham said.
