Xavier University has hired Danny Peters as its third men's basketball assistant coach, the school announced Friday.
Peters, a Cincinnati native who played three years at Lakota East High School before transferring to New Albany High School for his senior year, takes the place of Ben Johnson, who was recently named the head coach at Minnesota.
"I have known Danny since he was a freshman in college, and we have remained very close over the years," said Xavier head coach Travis Steele. "He has a tireless work ethic and is a terrific coach. He has one of the best offensive minds in all of college basketball and is also known as a relentless recruiter.
