SPARTANBURG, S.C. - In a back-and-forth Game 2, Xavier emerged as the victor over a resilient USC Upstate Spartan squad on Saturday afternoon. In all 10 games this season, the fist team to score five runs has gone on to win the game; today, it was Xavier.
Xavier struck first with a three-run homer with nobody out in the top of the first by slugger Luke Franzoni. He has now gone deep in four-straight games, including a two-homer day on Friday. USC Upstate got one back in the bottom half, but Xavier answered in the 3rd with a bases-loaded sac fly by Andrew Walker to stretch the lead back to 4-1.
