CINCINNATI, OH - The good news for Xavier is that they allowed 23 players to see the field on Sunday afternoon, the bad news is that despite 12 hits, they dropped the series rubber match to Western Carolina by a score of 14-4. Luke Franzoni hit his 12th home run of the season, moving within one of the NCAA lead and he sits just four shy of the Xavier single-season record.
It was an inauspicious start for Xavier as the Catamounts put up four runs in the first to set the tone. Franzoni got one back with his homer just over the left field wall, but Western Carolina poured it on.
