Chris Mack isn't leaving Xavier University anytime soon.
Xavier Athletic Director Greg Christopher announced Tuesday an extension of Mack's contract through the 2022-23 season.
Mack, No. 2 on Xavier's all-time coaching list in wins (263), will remain in his role as the Sedler Family Men's Head Basketball Coach for at least six more seasons.
The timing for an extension feels right. Xavier basketball is booming on almost every conceivable front at the moment.
The Musketeers are coming off one of their best-ever postseason results – a finish in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament – and welcomed to campus this summer a consensus top-10 ranked recruiting class.
