After leading Xavier's men's basketball team to a record-setting season, the university extended the contract of coach Chris Mack by one year through the 2021-22 season.
Mack, the program's first National Coach of the Year, earned the prestigious honor from the United States Basketball Writers Association, CBS Sports and Basketball Times magazine. He was also named Big East coach of the year by CBS Sports and Bleacher Report.
Xavier went 28-6 overall last season and 14-4 in the Big East, where it finished second to eventual national champion Villanova. The Musketeers' 28 wins tied the school record for second-most in program history.
