ORLANDO — Xavier men's basketball will dance another day.
The No. 11-seeded Musketeers (22-12) advanced Thursday to the NCAA Tournament's second round with a 76-65 first-round victory over the No. 6-seed University of Maryland Terrapins at the Amway Center.
With their place secure in the second round, the Musketeers will learn their opponent later Thursday in a game between No. 3 Florida State and No. 14 Florida Gulf Coast.
Once again, star Xavier junior guard Trevon Bluiett was more than up for the occassion – just not initially.
He finished the first half on 1 of 8 shooting for three points – part of the reason the Musketeers went into the halftime break trailing by a point.
