At the end of a whirlwind week in which Xavier's men's basketball team lost its head coach and hired a new head coach, the Musketeers still had a game to play on Sunday afternoon at Cintas Center in the National Invitation Tournament.
Despite the events of the week, Xavier played a solid basketball game under interim head coach Jonas Hayes and beat Florida 72-56, but the Musketeers also lost fifth-year senior Paul Scruggs to what looked like a scary injury.

Early in the second half, Scruggs made a steal and as he raced to Florida's basket, he stumbled and went down awkwardly, almost immediately grabbing his left knee.
