Travis Steele certainly didn't waste any time after taking office as Xavier basketball's new head coach.
Less than a day after Steele's formal introduction at his new post, he was out on the recruiting trail. His first stop was with Zach Hankins, the reigning Division II national player of the year and a graduate transfer that was getting serious interest from so-called "Power Five" conference programs.
Hankins pledged his final year of NCAA eligibility to Steele Thursday, making the newly-minted head coach's first official day on the job a resounding success.
