Xavier basketball notebook: Summer practice starts, Steele's expecting another baby

The college basketball season may be months away but Xavier University's men's basketball team started their 2019-2020 campaign Wednesday with the first of 10 summer practices alotted before the Musketeers embark next month for Spain.

This was the first time the entire roster was on the floor together after graduate transfer Jason Carter arrived on campus the day prior.

Xavier head coach Travis Steele spoke to reporters about the chemistry next month's trip will bring to his team and its seven newcomers, but the most visible thing to come out of the first practice was the abundance of athleticism on Team 98's roster.
