Xavier’s baseball season may have ended Monday at the hands of University of California Santa Barbara in the NCAA tournament Nashville Regional championship, but it was a campaign to remember.
Not only did the Musketeers advance beyond any other team in program annals, but they did it with chemistry, grit and resilience.
“It was a great team, it really was,” 11th-year coach Scott Googins said Tuesday as the team bused back from Nashville. “In all honesty, it was what a team should be. It was fun to coach.”
The Musketeers (32-30) amassed multiple achievements, including a Big East regular-season title.
