Xavier baseball is on the cusp of back-to-back Big East Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament berths after advancing to Sunday's championship game with a Friday night win over top-seeded Creighton University.
Third-seeded Xavier (31-25) took down top-seeded Creighton (24-24), 7-6, on the Blue Jays home field, TD Ameritrade Park.
Big East Player of the Year Rylan Bannon snared the final out to seal the victory for the Musketeers.
The Musketeers now await the winner of Saturday's Creighton-St. John's University elimination game to see which program they'll face for the conference crown.
