CALLAWASSIE ISLAND, S.C. – Garrett Wood secured an eighth-place finish as Xavier men's golf shot its best round of the tournament on Tuesday at the BIG EAST Championships.
The Musketeers improved by 12 strokes from round two with a final day team score of 300, which ranked fifth in the field. As a result, the Musketeers moved up two spots on the leaderboard to clinch a sixth-place finish in the nine team field.
Wood finished the tournament shooting 73, 75, 75 (223, +7). The freshman earned two birdies on the front, evening his scorecard through nine, and finishing the day 3-over.
