CINCINNATI - Former Xavier women's basketball coach Tony Brueneman ('67) passed away on Sunday, June 18.
His arrangements will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Oakley later in the week. More information on the service and an obituary will be provided as the information becomes available.
Brueneman was the first women's basketball coach in program history, compiling a 33-18 overall record over five seasons (1971-76). During the 1975-76 season, the team posted a 13-2 record.
During his time at Xavier, Brueneman served in a variety of roles: faculty, campus activities advisor, director of intramural programs and women's basketball coach.
