With two promising graduate transfers now in the fold, Xavier basketball head coach Travis Steele appears to have set his sights on filling the wing of basketball offices in Cintas Center with assistant coaches.
That process continued Monday with the announcement of Steele's first confirmed assistant coaching hire in Jonas Hayes, formerly of the Georgia Bulldogs men's basketball staff.
Hayes is a native Georgian, attended Georgia, was part of the Georgia coaching staff since 2013 and, following the program's offseason hire of former Indiana and Marquette head coach Tom Crean, appeared primed to stay on with Crean's staff.
