MILWAUKEE – For a game that should have featured two desperate teams Wednesday night at Fiserv Forum, only one team appeared to play with any desperation and it wasn't Xavier.
Marquette, which never trailed, was the tougher team and it showed in the final score, 85-65, but it also showed in basically every important statistical category.
"We have to do a lot of soul-searching at this point," said Xavier coach Travis Steele. "It’s going to be some changes made, have to be made. Something’s got to change for us. I told our team, I haven’t lost belief in our team but we have to be able to play to our identity, which I didn’t think was in place tonight.
