Travis Steele's formal introduction as the 18th head coach in Xavier men's basketball history occurred Wednesday.
The ceremonial beginning of the Steele era included addresses from Xavier University President Father Michael Graham and Athletic Director Greg Christopher, and an approximately 10-minute-long inaugural oration from Steele, who struck all the right notes and did so with confidence as he emphasized a holistic approach to winning on and off the court.
Steele was aspirational as he talked about "the elephant in the room – (going) where Xavier's never been before in the NCAA Tournament.
