MAUI – Xavier men's basketball opened up its second game of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational with red-hot shooting, jumping out to a 19-point lead, but the San Diego State Aztecs responded, chipping away at the lead late in the first and going ahead in the second to give the Musketeers a 79-74 loss in the second game of the Invitational.
Career-best marks for Quentin Goodin, who led the team with 20 points, Zach Hankins, who added 15 and Elias Harden, who scored nine, fell just short of the late come-back for the Musketeers.
