OMAHA, Neb. – "Everybody goes through slumps."
Those were the words head coach Travis Steele used following Xavier's comeback win on Saturday at Creighton.
Steele was talking about Nate Johnson, a fifth-year senior, who in four games leading up to Saturday's road trip, was 4-for-25 from the field and 2-for-17 from 3-point range.
Over those four games, Johnson scored a total of 10 points, well below his double-digit scoring average, and for a sharpshooter, someone who's accustomed to knocking down shots at a much more consistent rate, it was a frustrating place for Johnson.
