Sweet 16 bid on the line for Xavier, Wisconsin

ST. LOUIS – From the misspelled “Musketeers” in Wisconsin’s game notes to the reporter that asked about “Egg-zavier” in a press conference, it seemed like Xavier’s men’s basketball team stepped into a weird time warp Saturday at the Scottrade Center.

No matter. The second-seeded Musketeers – playing in their sixth NCAA tournament in seven years under Coach Mack and boasting the highest seed in program history – have done their talking on the court all season.

The team already has plenty of motivation ahead of Sunday’s 8:40 p.m. second-round showdown against the seventh-seeded Badgers.

“I want to make sure that we’re the toughest team,” Xavier junior forward Jalen Reynolds said.
