CINCINNATI --- Xavier University graduate student Souley Boum has been named BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week for his efforts in wins this past week over Creighton on Jan. 11 and No. 25 Marquette on Jan. 15. Boum averaged 21.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.0 steals for the two games, while only having one turnover in 74 minutes of action.
XU trailed at halftime of both games. Boum scored nine of Xavier's final 12 points against Marquette, including a 3-pointer and 4-4 from the free-throw line. He scored 17 of his game-high 26 points in the second half of the Creighton win.
