As DePaul strung together an early 7-0 run, propelled by beating Xavier up on the boards, Travis Steele called timeout and as his team walked off the floor, fire and venom shot from his mouth and eyes like bullets. Red in the face, Steele slammed a dry-erase whiteboard against the Cintas Center floor while his team huddled around him for an earful.
The whiteboard's untimely death and the firestorm that followed seemed to serve Xavier well the rest of the night.
The Musketeers, coming off a 55-point letdown three days prior in a loss to Villanova, exploded offensively for a season-high 12 3-pointers to help put away DePaul, 78-67.
