Xavier knew what was headed its way Wednesday night – a tough team with a legitimate All-American contender in Myles Powell – and Seton Hall lived up to the hype of a team picked in the preseason to win the Big East Conference.
In a game billed by head coach Travis Steele for its toughness, Seton Hall showed Xavier the toughness it's gonna take to compete in the Big East this season with an 83-71 win in the Cintas Center.
It looked like Seton Hall was going to pull away multiple times, but Xavier managed to cut the lead to 75-71 with 1:58 to play, only to allow the Pirates to close the game on an 8-0 run.
