Report: Xavier transfer Larry Austin Jr. chooses Vanderbilt

Former Xavier guard Larry Austin Jr. will play at Vanderbilt for new head coach Bryce Drew, CBSSports.com's Jon Rothstein reported via Twitter.

The Enquirer's Shannon Russell reported in April that the sophomore was leaving XU in hopes of earning more playing time elsewhere.

Austin played in 34 games last season for Xavier, averaging 1.8 points and 1.1 assists in 9.8 minutes.

Per NCAA transfer rules, Austin will have to sit out the 2016-17 season, but will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Austin signed a letter of intent to play at Tennessee before switching to Xavier when Cuonzo Martin left the Vols for Cal.
