The New Orleans Pelicans renounced the rights to former Xavier Musketeers standout Trevon Bluiett, according to a report via Twitter from Yahoo's Keith Smith, which signifies that his cap hold no longer sits on the team's salary cap projection for this season.
The 24-year-old Bluiett scored a game-high 23 points on 8-of-19 from the field - including 6-of-14 from 3-point range - in the Pelicans' 84-79 loss to the Washington Wizards in the NBA Summer League on Saturday. Bluiett is one of several players from UC or Xavier playing in the league.
