Since he took over as the men's basketball coach at Xavier University, Travis Steele has talked a lot about shooting, probably because in his first two seasons Steele has lacked the proper perimeter threat that's become invaluable at every level of basketball.
Saturday's news – a verbal commitment from Belmont University transfer Adam Kunkel – should help ensure that Steele no longer gets questioned about his team's aerial attack at least for a few more years.
Kunkel, a 2018 Cooper High School grad, entered the transfer portal Tuesday and the 6-foot-3 guard settled on the Musketeers Saturday afternoon.
