NEW YORK CITY – Short of winning the Big East Tournament this weekend, it's highly likely that Xavier will be sweating it out on Selection Sunday.
Based on the wide-ranging projections of nationally recognized bracketology forecasters, it seems unlikely the experts will be able to provide Xavier and its fans with a straight answer regarding the team's March Madness fate.
Xavier's resume is highly competitive and ripe with solid metrics – RPI, the strength of schedule, KenPom, etc. – but it's also lacking enough quality wins to guarantee their NCAA Tournament berth ahead of Thursday's Big East Tournament quarterfinal game against nationally-ranked Butler University.
