There's a great temptation to get sentimental about the final home game for long-time and revered Xavier Musketeers J.P. Macura, Trevon Bluiett and Sean O'Mara.
The contributions of Macura, Bluiett, O'Mara, along with graduate transfer Kerem Kanter and walk-on Matt Singleton, to what is arguably the greatest era in Xavier basketball is unquestioned. They'll all be rightly recognized for those contributions during the customary "Senior Night" ceremony prior to Wednesday's home game against Providence College (6:30 p.m., FS1).
Sentimentality's going to have to take a back seat to a shot at program history, though, because No. 3-ranked Xavier (25-4, 13-3 Big East) is on the cusp of clinching its first Big East Conference championship.
