LONG BEACH, CA - Xavier baseball gave Long Beach State all they could handle in a late-night battle in California. After two early runs scored, Xavier responded with a two-RBI single from Franzoni. When LBSU scored again, Xavier responded with an 8th inning double to go ahead in the 8th. However, a bad break in the bottom of the 8th took the wind out of the Musketeers, and Long Beach State went on to win 8-4.
The Musketeers will be back for Game Two, tomorrow at 6:00 p.
