NEW YORK - After picking up the win in Saturday's 2-1 victory at Charleston, Xavier junior was named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week by the conference office.
Zwack pitched 7.0 innings in his third start of the season at Charleston on Saturday. The lefty allowed no runs on two hits with no walks, striking out seven as the Musketeers went on to the 2-1 win.
On the season, Zwack has an 1.65 ERA in 16.1 innings pitched, allowing just three earned runs on seven hits with a team-high 19 strikeouts.
This is the Zwacks first weekly award of the season and second overall, also earning Pitcher of the Week as a sophomore.
