The success No. 12 Xavier has had through eight games has erupted on social media, in the polls and occasionally in the classroom.
Freshman forward Makinde London was asked Monday by a fellow student what it felt like to be ranked No. 1 in the RPI. London said the team just wants to keep getting better but admitted that recent accolades have provided “a surreal feeling.”
“Growing up, you look at all the teams ranked high and you’re like, ‘Man, those guys are unbelievable.’ And now you just realize that they’re regular guys, just trying to play hard for their team and their school,” London said.
