ATLANTA – Xavier volleyball dropped its first match of the Georgia Tech Invitational on Thursday night, falling to the host Yellow Jackets in four sets (25-20, 25-27, 11-25, 17-25). The Musketeers moved to 4-4 on the year, while Georgia Tech improved to 3-5.
• Alexis Newsome posted a season-high 14 kills to go along with a .440 hitting percentage. The middle blocker was one kills shy of matching her career high (15 kills - at Illinois | Aug. 26, 2016).
• Kristen Massa matched Newsome with a team-high 14 kills. The senior outside hitter has recorded double-figure kills in all but one match this season.
