NCAA rule changes could have benefitted recent Xavier University basketball departures

The NCAA announced Wednesday significant rule changes aimed at cleaning up college basketball.

The changes came a few months too late for some of the recent and more-promising prospects out of Xavier University's men's basketball program but should alter business for the high-major program going forward.

Under the newly-recommended rules, “elite” high school seniors having the ability to hire agents and underclassmen having the ability to return to college if they enter the NBA draft but aren’t selected.
