Less than 24 hours from its season-opener Wednesday, Xavier University announced that three men's basketball players had been placed in quarantine after contact tracing revealed they came in close contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19.
The news raised a fair amount of questions, and as Xavier was warming up Wednesday before a blowout win over Oakland, the school confirmed that the three players in quarantine are freshmen Colby Jones and C.J. Wilcher, as well as walk-on Spencer Cody.
In his post-game press conference Wednesday, head coach Travis Steele addressed the situation and shed some light on Xavier's protocols.
