QUEENS, N.Y. - After coming back to take an eighth inning lead, Xavier baseball fell, 9-8, at St. John's in 14 innings on Saturday afternoon. The loss was the Musketeers' first set-back in BIG EAST play as Xavier moves to 4-1 in BIG EAST play and 13-22 overall.
St. John's took an early lead, holding a two run advantage until a two-run homer for Luke Franzoni in the fourth tied the game. Xavier took its first lead with a three-run top of the fifth, but SJU responded with a three-run inning of its own to tie the game.
