Xavier moved to7-13 (2-9 BIG EAST), while the Red Storm improved to 7-14 (3-8 BIG AST).
• St. John's took an early 9-4 lead before the Musketeers scored four unanswered points to close within one point (9-8) at the 4:48 mark. Xavier battled back to tie the game two times before the end of the quarter and led by one point (15-14) with 56 seconds on the clock following a pair of free throws.
