WASHINGTON - Xavier women's basketball dropped a 74-52 BIG EAST road game at Georgetown on Sunday night at McDonough Arena. The Musketeers dropped to 6-3 (0-3 BIG EAST), while the Hoyas improved to 5-3 (1-1 BIG EAST).
Georgetown hit 64.7 percent (11-for-17) if its shot attempts in the opening quarter and scored 11 points off of turnovers, taking a 25-15 lead into the second frame. The Hoyas maintained their double-figure lead for the remainder of the half, taking a 38-25 advantage into halftime.
Xavier opened the second half on a 4-0 run to close within nine points (38-29), but the Hoyas responded with a 14-3 run to take their first 20-point lead of the game, 52-32, with 4:18 left in the third quarter.
