BOYDS, Md. - Xavier men's soccer captured its first BIG EAST Tournament Championship on Sunday afternoon the Maryland SoccerPlex.
The Musketeers and No. 3 Georgetown played to a scoreless draw after 110 minutes of action (two overtime periods). Xavier defeated the Hoyas, 5-4, in penalty kicks to punch its ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014.
Xavier moves to 9-3-6 on the year, while the Hoyas move to 13-2-3. The Musketeers are 5-0-5 in their last 10 matches.
