TUCSON, Ariz. — Xavier senior Luke Franzoni collected another post-season honor on Thursday, earning a spot on The Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division I All-American Second Team.
Franzoni, a first baseman from Robbinsville, N.J., wrapped up a record-breaking season with a team-best .358 batting average, collecting 76 hits, including 41 for extra bases to lead the BIG EAST with a .825 slugging percentage. Among those extra base hits were 29 home runs, a single-season school record for Xavier and a mark that is tied for the most in NCAA DI at the conclusion of conference tournaments.
