NEW YORK - On Thursday the BIG EAST Conference announced its 2016 women's tennis awards with junior Sydney Liggins being named the BIG EAST Player of the Year.
Joining Liggins on the All-BIG EAST team is with Cristina Di Lorenzo and Amina Ismail while head coach Doug Matthews and his staff received Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Liggins is the first women's tennis player to be named the conference's player of the year. She led the Musketeers in their BIG EAST Championship title run by going undefeated in singles and doubles play earning her Most Outstanding Player.
